To see the Difference between a Cold and H1N1 Flu
Sick students with
influenza-like illnesses are advised to stay home until at least
24 hours after they no longer have a fever or signs of a fever
without the use of fever-reducing medications.
Consider ways to promote good health and hand hygiene.
o Remember the three C’s:
Clean – Provide opportunities and appropriate supplies
for hand washing and wash hands frequently to prevent the spread
of germs.
Cover – Your cough or sneeze with a tissue or sleeve, not
your hand; and avoid touching one’s eyes, nose or mouth, and
wash hands especially after coughingor sneezing.
Contain – Your germs and stay home if you are sick.
Due to the possible increase in the flu virus
this year, we are asking you to keep your child home if they
appear ill or have a fever (100) in the morning before school.
Please do not send them to school with Tylenol or
Ibuprofen which can mask symptoms and expose other children and
staff. If you wish the nurse to give these medications at
school, please pick up a medication form at school and have it
signed by a physician and a parent before returning to the
school nurse.
Thank You, we will try our best to contain
illness. |
